Top 5 Best City of Toronto Locations for your Engagement or Wedding Photos

Are you looking for that perfect location for your Toronto Engagement or Wedding photos? Look no further - we’ve got you covered! Whether you’re looking for a chic city restaurant, a clean studio space, an outdoor location, or perhaps just some guidance on what the vibes could be, you can trust us to make sure your photos will be memorable and perfect for you. These are the top 5 best City of Toronto locations for your engagement or wedding photos!

5) Yorkville - One of Toronto’s gorgeous bustling neighborhoods, it's no wonder that Yorkville made our top 5 list of Toronto wedding and engagement photo locations.

With designer shops, residential streets, and hidden gem restaurants, Yorkville is located just north west of Yonge & Bloor. Whether you live in the area or not, Yorkville feels like home. With our 90 minute engagement package you can travel on foot throughout Yorkville Village and ensure your engagement or wedding photos have a variety of different backgrounds.

Our favorite Yorkville route?

1 - Start at Bloor & Avenue, at the monumental heritage building which was once home to Club Monaco, here you can capture some stunning photos surrounded by grand architecture, not to mention the historic ROM across the street.

2 - From here we walk north on Avenue where we can grab those classic city shots, walking through an intersection makes for a great candid and is a perfect opportunity for vibey motion blur photos.

3 - Once we get to Yorkville Avenue you have a chance to window shop (or really shop - we’re not judging) as we walk towards Hazelton, a gorgeous tree-lined residential street for a more serene moment in your session.

Did we mention that during a 90 minute Yorkville engagement session you can change your outfit?

Now’s the perfect time to change, before we pop into one of the glamorous bars in Yorkville Village to finish your photoshoot with a fun cocktail or a glass of champagne.

4) Osgoode Hall - Osgoode Hall is a downtown Toronto landmark and has been a favorite of Toronto Wedding Photographers for years.

One of its many perks (besides being an absolutely beautiful backdrop for your wedding or engagement photos) is that it doesn't require a permit. That’s right, it’s absolutely free to have your photos taken here. Although it can be busy in the summer, if you strategically plan your photos around the rush of tourists, you can have a perfectly quiet, and intimate setting for your photos. We have shot here numerous times over the years and it has never failed us - see for yourself!

3) Toronto Carpet Factory - Located in the heart of Liberty Village is the historic and iconic Toronto Carpet Factory.

We may be a little biased (this is the home of the 515 Photo Co. Studio), but we love this location! We recommend splitting your engagement photo package into two sections. Here’s why: In a 90 minute engagement session we can offer you two completely different vibes so you have variety in your photo gallery.

Vibe #1: The look of a cool and stylish photography studio.

Complete with various backdrops, soaring ceilings and industrial loft style windows which allow for gorgeous natural light, all at no extra fee, because it's ours! We’ll start your shoot in our studio with one outfit, and then after 45 minutes we can shake things up.

Vibe #2: Now’s the time to change into your second look and hit the streets.

The Toronto Carpet Factory is made up of various old brick buildings connected by picturesque alleyways, which ensure a considerable amount of privacy for your photos. The brick buildings are the perfect backdrop for the later half of your city engagement or wedding photos.

2) Trinity Bellwoods, Queen West & The Ossington Strip - One of Downtown Toronto’s trendiest and most photogenic locations.

If you are from Toronto, or have ever visited in the summer, chances are you have heard of Trinity Bellwoods. Although it can be a very busy destination in the summer, if you are willing to brave an early morning shoot, this location holds up to its reputation. Sunrise glistening through the cherry blossoms? Say less.

Next Step: From the infamous gates of Trinity Bellwoods, our next move will be to walk west towards Toronto’s Ossington strip. Ossington is home to some of Toronto’s most trendy and chic restaurants & bars, like Paris Paris, Cote De Beouf, and La Banane. Take your pick at any of these gorgeous locations for a cheeky drink while we capture your photo.

Last leg: Our final destination is at the top of the street where Dundas meets Ossington, where we can turn east back towards Trinity Bellwoods, or continue on Dundas to find more fabulous restaurants like La Palma for that final nightcap, and a pop of flash to finish your engagement photoshoot.

1) St Lawrence Market & The Financial District - Our number one recommendation for your Toronto Engagement Photos

Finally, we have made it to our number one destination for your wedding or engagement photos. The downtown core of Toronto is made up of multiple highrises, and it can be quite overwhelming to navigate. However, when you have one of 515's skilled and experienced photographers, it's like a photoshoot and a city tour built into one.

Step #1 - The infamous Gooderham building, also known as Toronto’s Flatiron Building, sits at the bottom of Church Street, at 49 Wellington. This landmark is the perfect beginning to your downtown photoshoot.

Step #2 - From here, we walk east to either the Distillery District (see our honorable mention list), or west towards the Financial District, home to some of Toronto’s most beautiful historic architecture and of course its largest towers including the TD Centre, created by Mies van der Rohe.  With so many options, this really is the perfect location for your engagement or wedding photos.

Step #3 - Commerce Court, a symphony of lighting options. Depending on the time of day, this location allows us to find pockets of golden hour sun, or hide in the shadows of the buildings for some moodier light play.

All of this within walking distance of where we started. We have shot here many many times, yet every photoshoot feels one of a kind because of the constant change of the city's landscape. We highly recommend it!

Honorable mentions: Distillery District, University Club of Toronto, Christie Pitts, Spadina House, Ossington, Toronto Island, and so many more throughout the city and region.

Have we inspired you to book your engagement session yet? No matter what your mood board consists of, we have options and are able to make sure your engagement or wedding photo dreams become a reality.
