From a Toronto Distillery District Proposal to a Tented Backyard Summer Wedding, planned by specialist Ashley Pigott: The Love Story of Brooke & Tyler

Brooke & Tyler’s love story is as classically Toronto as it gets. From a proposal at the stunning Distillery District Toronto Christmas Market, to their legendary Backyard Tented Wedding, designed and planned by Toronto's Ashley Pigott. Their story begins in 2020. Brooke & Tyler decided to go for a walk down the cobblestone streets of the winter village. When they arrived at the oversized Christmas tree at the center of the market, they posed for a photograph. Little did Brooke know that behind her was an ornament that said “Brooke, will you marry me?” When she turned back around, Tyler was on one knee. You know how this story ends…

Admittedly, Brooke is a big Christmas fan, but when it came to their wedding day they opted for a stunning Summer wedding in the backyard of Brooke’s parents' family home. They wanted their wedding to be timeless, classic and modern. With the help of Toronto’s premier wedding planner, Ashley Piggot, their dreams seamlessly became a reality. While Brooke & Tyler were wedding planning, they were also battling with ongoing pandemic restrictions, and therefore found it difficult to tour venues in the city. They realized it might make the most sense to get married outside, under a gorgeous sailcloth tent, in the backyard where she had spent so many years growing up. And fun fact, Brooke & Tyler were the very first couple to ever be married on this property - perhaps a family tradition in the making?

When we asked Brooke & Tyler what the most memorable part of their wedding day was, unanimously they agreed that it was the initial moment that their eyes locked as Brooke walked down the aisle. A close second was the speeches made by their family members. We agree - what's better than hearing your family gush about how much they love you (in under 5 minutes)?!

With an absolutely thrilling set by Toronto’s best entertainment, Sole Power, the couple danced the night away, only stopping to enjoy their delicious food catered by Food Dudes. The stunning florals and decor were supplied by Jackie O. Guests also enjoyed live illustrations by the talented Stephanie Anne, and a late night photo booth courtesy of Gaetano Isidori.

We are so thrilled that Brooke and Tyler chose us to capture their beautiful tented backyard wedding. When we asked the Toronto couple why they chose 515, they said “We chose 515 because we loved the work! The mix between the classic and trendy pictures. We also got along really well with the team behind 515! Which was super important to us, as we both wanted to feel comfortable with our photographer!” We could ask for a better review!
