A Sleek and Stylish Downtown Wedding at 1 Hotel Toronto

It was a beautiful Thursday in June at the 1 Hotel Toronto, the day that Rachel & Elie were married in front of their closest family and friends at the stylish downtown venue of their dreams. To be exact, the date was June 22, 2023. This date held a special significance as it was the birthday of the bride’s late grandfather. From floral arrangements, to menu selections, it was of the utmost importance that his presence be felt.

Let’s rewind to the beginning of Rachel & Elie’s love story. Like most great Gen Z romances, theirs began with a dating app, which led to a first date, which led to… well you guessed it, two years later, they celebrated their wedding day, perfectly planned by one of Toronto’s premier wedding planners, Ashley Linzdon

Rachel wore an Alex Perry silk strapless gown, René Caovilla wrap-around heels, and diamond jewelry, but the star of the ensemble was her Monique Lhuillier veil, which was love at first sight, according to Rachel. Once the veil was purchased, the rest of the pieces fell into place. Elie wore a beautifully made Brunello Cucinelli linen suit, styled with beige Christian Louboutin suede penny loafers.

The couple shared vows that they wrote for each other under a beautifully decorated chuppah, which was flanked with bright tropical florals designed by Stemz Flowers. “I love you too much” was the common theme in the couple's vows, a phrase that they’ve made their own throughout their relationship.

1 Hotel’s modern and stylish restaurant, Casa Medara, was the host for Rachel & Elie’s reception. The guests enjoyed their family style meal around small floral centerpieces, with a menu that consisted of burrata salad, tuna tartare, branzino, steak and ribs, and crispy potatoes. Before the clock struck midnight the reception space seamlessly transitioned into a jungle themed disco party with the DJ spinning tracks by artists from Elton John to Mariah Carey.

Wise words from the bride: “Small details make all the difference if you want your wedding to stand out.” As photographers, this is music to our ears. Our eye immediately goes to the details, and we love spending part of our day making sure we capture them all.
