A Toronto Love Story: Capturing this Couples Engagement Photos at our 515 Studio and Toronto Carpet Factory

As Toronto wedding photographers, every love story we encounter is unique and special. Today, we have the pleasure of sharing the journey of Sheralyn and Kevin, a Toronto couple whose love has really withstood the test of time. From a nervous high school crush, to a breathtaking proposal, their story is filled with laughter, surprises, and a deep bond that inspires us as photographers - hence this beautiful engagement shoot, photographed in our own backyard at the historic Toronto Carpet Factory.

Okay, so here’s the deal: Sheralyn and Kevin were destined to be together. End of story. They crossed paths in high school through a mutual friend group, and although Kevin initially hesitated to approach Sheralyn due to what she would call “fear”, fate intervened - or should I say a gentle push from Kevin's friends made all the difference. Regardless, their friendship blossomed into something more, becoming each other's first - and dare we say, last!

In the midst of Sheralyn's last year of dental school in Philadelphia, Kevin planned a Labor Day weekend visit. The nerves of those highschool days were bubbling up again. With a sneaking suspicion that a proposal was on the horizon, Sheralyn turned Kevin's luggage inside out but found no trace of a ring. Surprise! Kevin had hidden the ring at home, knowing that Sheralyn wouldn’t be able to resist looking for clues that a proposal was on the way. Later that weekend, the couple traveled to Cape May, which was a dreamy affair, as Kevin laid out a beach picnic complete with champagne, decorations, and candles. With the classic heartfelt gesture, he knelt down and asked Sheralyn to spend forever by his side. You can guess what happens next…

As the couple’s engagement photos were being planned, Sheralyn let us know that she is  inspired by old classic photography styles. The charm of black and white images and the nostalgic feel of film photography.  This was music to our ears! Feels? Vibes? That’s what we’re all about here at 515 Photo Co. For Sheralyn and Kevin's engagement shoot, we aimed to capture classic looking photos, with a splash of today’s fashion. Which ultimately led to a stunning gallery of photos that, as you can see, absolutely met the brief.

When it comes to celebrating, Sheralyn, Kevin, and their loved ones know how to have a good time! Food, dancing, and joyful memory making define their wedding plans. The couple's infectious energy and love for festivities will undoubtedly fill the dance floor (which we can’t wait to document, by the way). With family and friends joining them, their Niagara on the Lake wedding will be a reflection of the incredible love they share…

…and if these engagement photos are any indication of what's to come, their wedding photos are sure to be out of this world.
